I have a conditioning training once a day, 6 days a week.
How many conditional trainings you have in a week?
I have a conditioning training once a day, 6 days a week.
Do you have a dedicated fitness trainer?
No, I am on my own with my conditioning training program.
What do you like the most and what is your least favorite part in conditional training?
I love sweating a lot, it makes me feel like I got a great workout in. It keeps my metabolism working! And it clears my head, and keeps my moral boosted.
What are your strengths and weaknesses in this type of training?
My weakness is always motivation, but I usually always win, so my strength is determination!
What kind of tools do you use if any (e.g. kettle bell, power band…etc.)?
My conditioning training is in the swimming pool, without any tools. But when I go to the track, I use the ladder and bands.
What do you do to prevent injuries?
I am very lucky with no injuries. My body is resilient. I make sure I listen to my body very closely. If it hurts, I stretch and ice.
Have you ever had a serious injury/operation? If yes, how long did it take to get back in shape?
No, never, thank goodness.
What do you think about the importance of physical condition of fencers nowadays and before? Has it changed a lot? How dominant is it in fencing?
I think conditioning is more important than ever now! Like I said before, it clears my head and allows me some freedom in this crazy world. I can do it alone, so I don't need to be with other people IF I don't want (or can't). It keeps me happy and sane, and allows me to get out of the house too. Without conditioning, I think I would go a little crazy!
